Abu Dhabi awaits

Veni, vedi, vici (“I came, i saw, i conquered”), the famous expression attributed to Julius Cesar sums up the performance of Patrik “ImpulsiveRacer” Holzmann in the semi-finals of the F1 2017 eSports Series. Two races, two victories for the German Team Oscaro driver in a full Gfinity Arena in London. An exceptional event, brilliantly produced, Liberty Media (owner of Formula 1) did not spare any means for this semi-final with not less than 6 journalists and live streaming of the event on Twitch, Sky Sports and Facebook.

They were 40 to race one against another, after being selected online amongst 70 000 players. In groups of 10, the drivers raced two times at Interlagos and Silverstone. The five best of each heat (with points based on the F1 model, 25 for 1st place, 18 for 2nd, etc) won their ticket to the grand final in Abu Dhabi at the end of the month of November (at the same time as the Abu Dhabi GP).

After his performance, Patrik is amongst the favourites for the final. He is not the only one however, the level being very high in London. He will have to watch out for the surprising Brendon Leigh, also a double winner in the first heat where he literally destroyed the competition. Frederik Rasmussen, Allert Vanderwal and Sonuc Saltunc will also be the racers to watch out for in the UAE.

Unfortunately the three other Oscaro eSports drivers present in London was eliminated from their heats.
