Going Pro: How to reach the top of NASCAR… At Age 39!

"The car does not care how old you are...I'm more fit now than I've ever been in my entire life."

Tommy is chasing the dream – a dream that many have tried… and failed many times over.

His passion for racing was born and grew during his early formative years, growing up in a horsepower family.

He held onto that excitement for over a decade as he climbed the NASCAR ladder. In the early days, passion wasn’t enough. Tommy poured his blood, sweat, tears – and every dollar to his name – to build a racing company from the ground up. He set his sights very high: reaching the Monster Energy Cup Series.

Tommy battled naysayers throughout his entire journey: they insisted that he would never make it. But he proved them wrong. Now, at age 39, he is in the best physical shape of his life, his reaction time is at his peak, and he is more confident than ever on his ability to maneuver the intense, sharp turns of a NASCAR road course track at 200 miles per hour.

The final months of Tommy’s preparation for the biggest race of his career represent a challenge to his body, and to his mind. Tommy pushes through a rigorous physical training program, a strict nutrition regimen, and intense mental acuity exercises that prepare him to stay focused throughout multiple hours of high intensity race around the track.

Every time he suits up, sits in the car and pulls onto the track, he takes a moment to acknowledge all the hard work he’s put in, and everything that he’s learned. Today, he sits a little taller and confidently shows everyone watching that it’s never too late to chase your dream.

The Muscle Car Place’s Rob Kibbe interviews Tommy to learn what it takes to push against all obstacles as he enters his final weeks of preparing for the biggest moment of his career. Tune in to an incredibly entertaining chat between two car lovers as they share their journeys with racing fans.
