Welcome to Vila Real

Tens of thousands of Portugese fans amassed themselves in the grandstands of the Vila Real circuit last June. Vila Real, with the Nordschleife, is probably the hardest and most dangerous circuit this year on the WTCC calendar. A street circuit, halfway between Macao and Monaco. A 5km long circuit in the hills of the Portugese city and speeds going up to 250 km/h in the last sector. A historical circuit which hosts racing since 1931 and which particularity is the proximity of the guardrail. Just after the qualification of Portugal in the Euro 2016 quarterfinal, the verdict falls: Tiago Monteiro, the Porto native wins in front of the fans in a atmosphere recalling those of the greatest evenings of the Estádio do Dragão (FC Porto’s Dragon Stadium).
